Wow! It's hard to believe we're almost halfway through Term 3 already.
We've been super busy learning about how we can keep ourselves safe when we're out in public and how to be safe around fire.
Reading rotations are going really well and all students have shown great responsibility and independence by following their own timetables.
We have finished our Hockey skills and are now learning awesome football skills with our expert coach.
Here are some photos of us practising juggling with our feet.

We've had an awesome term with our buddies from Room 8. Over the last couple of weeks we have been learning a bit more about Coding. Our Year 5 & 6 buddies have taught us how to add commands for characters within games to perform specific actions.
As well as Coding, students also shared knowledge and stories of Matariki and Puanga. We celebrated Puanga by making lanterns and putting awesome Maori designs and facts on them. We all had a hikoi down to the Enviro-Centre with our lanterns and sang some waiata to the mountains.
You may still be able to see our lanterns hanging up outside the front of Room 4.
This Term we have spent a lot of time learning how to add detail to our writing to make it more fun for the reader to read. Adding detail to our writing also gives the reader a clear idea of the setting, character or ideas we are trying to portray.
Recently we went down to the Enviro Centre and used our senses to observe what we could see, hear, smell and how we felt.
Here are some photos of the class engaging their senses.

Our Inquiry into "Serious Fun" is well under way. Already we have learnt how to keep ourselves safe while online. With help from Harold from Life Ed we are great, responsible digital citizens.
Our trip down to the Marae was a huge success. All students, parents and teachers were welcomed onto the Marae with a Powhiri. The day was then spent playing traditional Maori games, sketching and eating a delicious hangi!
