A Community Service with Outdoor Education since 1972

For 45 years Oakura School has kept a tradition of a village and beach clean-up morning, which leads on to a picnic, social gathering, river swim and games time.

We are lucky to have extended family/whanau support to help supervise the walk, swim, sausage sizzle, games and chats.

Thanks to all the people who helped us to help others and enjoy ourselves. R4 blog team.

Buddy Research For Our Class Gardens.

We have been researching about types of plants that will be suitable for our gardens at this time of the year. The inquiry research is being put together on Google Slides. Our class is finding out about using the internet to make sure our garden has the best conditions to grow and plants for our present climate. Autumn is not far away so we want them to harvest the produce to feed our classes with salads or soup later this term. R4 blog team.

Our Buddy Support Network

All of us Room 4 children are so lucky to have a wonderful link to a Room 8 pupil as a buddy reader, a support friend to chat with and an activity partner. We look forward to the sharing times when we will work on our garden plot, read to each other, talk about our experiences and play games. R4 blog team.

Room 4

Our classroom really is the place to be in and we are great children who share our fun, our learning and our play dates.

Look at our class treaty, which we have gathered as a team of Room 4 class members. We all agree to do our best to honour this treaty.

The values that we keep in mind fit in well with Oakura School’s values of respect, honesty and perseverance. Integrity is important to us also because we want to be true to ourselves and to all other people that we share our lives with.

POETRY- Room 4 children showing huge potential as poets

We have begun our writing session with poetry based on recent experiences this Summer.
Our class has worked hard on making sure the poems are interesting, each line makes sense on its own and presenting the best we can. Come into Room 4 sometime because we love to share our ideas.  by R4 Blog team.
